How the Kuda referral program works
Kuda pays ₦10,000 to the referrer and ₦4,000 to the friend. The bar is unusually high: the referrer must hold a Premium account for sixty days, and the friend must upgrade to Tier 2, keep a ₦15,000 daily balance for thirty days, complete five transactions and spend ₦5,000 on airtime or bills. Rewards land on day 32.
What the program pays
What makes this program different
A sustained balance requirement. Almost every referral programme in the world qualifies on an event — a signup, a first transaction. Kuda qualifies on a state maintained for thirty days, which is far harder to fake and far more predictive of a real customer.
Why it works
A thirty-day balance condition cannot be satisfied by a single funded transaction, which eliminates most fraud patterns outright.
Requiring sixty days of referrer tenure stops fresh accounts from being spun up purely to farm the programme.
Re-issuing the campaign monthly means the terms are always dated, and stale third-party write-ups are obvious.
What to copy
- If your product monetises balances or recurring usage, qualify on a maintained state rather than a one-off event.
- Gate the referrer as well as the referee. Tenure requirements are cheap to implement and highly effective.
- Version your campaign by month. It dates your own terms automatically.
Kuda referrals, answered
How much does Kuda pay for a referral?
₦10,000 to the referrer and ₦4,000 to the friend, as published on Kuda's help centre and verified 4 August 2026. The campaign is re-issued monthly.
Why is the Kuda referral so hard to qualify for?
The friend must maintain a ₦15,000 daily balance for thirty days alongside five transactions and ₦5,000 of airtime or bill spend. A sustained balance is much harder to fake than a single transaction.
