ReferralFlo
SaaS & Tech

Your users already recommend you in Slack. Instrument it.

Every happy workspace is quietly selling your product in channels you'll never see. ReferralFlo gives each user a link worth sharing — and gives you the attribution from first click to paid conversion.

The problem you already have

Someone in a customer's Slack just asked "what do you use for this?" — and your champion answered with your name. That signup will land in your analytics as "direct". No thank-you, no repeat.

What most SaaS teams do: a dusty 'invite a friend' link buried in settings, credited to nobody, measured never. The channel with the best trial-to-paid economics runs on vibes.
What ReferralFlo does: gives every user a tracked link and short code, follows the referral from click through signup to paid conversion via the tracking snippet, and pays the reward automatically.

How it runs here

From a Slack message to a paid workspace

Each step shows the human moment — and what ReferralFlo records beneath it.

1
Sarah joins your program
A power user signs up in your branded portal — or straight from an in-app link.
Advocate record + unique referral code issued
2
She answers the Slack question
Drops her link in the thread. Three teammates click that afternoon.
Every click tracked with source and device
3
A workspace converts
Trial started Tuesday, upgraded Friday — signalled by your conversion snippet.
window.ReferralFlo.convert() credits the referral
4
Both accounts get credit
A month free for Sarah, a month for the new workspace.
Reward rule fires on converted; fulfilment tracked
Why SaaS teams run it on ReferralFlo
01
Attribution your dashboard can defend
Referred signups stop hiding inside 'direct'. Every conversion ties to an advocate, a program, a channel and a device fingerprint — numbers a growth review can trust.
02
Rewards that match SaaS economics
Account credit, fixed cash or percentage of first invoice — separate rules for the advocate and the referred workspace, triggered on the lifecycle state you choose (usually converted, not clicked).
03
Ship it without an engineering epic
The six-step method launches a program without a sprint: hosted or embedded capture, the JS snippet for conversion events, and the REST API when you want to go deeper.

Referred trials convert at roughly double our average — and for the first time we can actually see them in the funnel instead of guessing.

Common questions

How do we credit a referral when conversion happens inside our app?

Drop the conversion tracking snippet into your app and call window.ReferralFlo.convert() when the workspace upgrades — the referral moves to converted and reward rules fire from there. The REST API covers server-side flows.

Can rewards wait until the trial actually converts?

Yes — reward triggers are tied to lifecycle states. Most SaaS programs pay on converted, not on signup, and both the advocate's and the referred account's rewards are configured separately.

How do you stop signup farming?

Five fraud layers screen every referral — bot detection, device fingerprinting, IP and duplicate checks, velocity rules and a per-referral fraud risk level — before any reward is released.
