How the NordVPN referral program works
NordVPN extends the referrer's subscription by three months for each qualified referral. The friend's extension depends on what they bought, one month on a monthly plan and three on a one or two-year plan. Purchases billed through the app stores earn nothing on either side.

Scaling the friend's reward to the plan they chose. A monthly subscriber gets one month, an annual subscriber gets three. The reward is proportionate to the commitment made, so the discount never exceeds what the customer was willing to pay in the first place.
Why it works
Paying in subscription time costs the marginal cost of service, not the price of the plan.

What to copy
- Scale the referred person's reward to what they bought, and a small purchase can never earn a large gift.
- Let expired accounts keep referring. They cost nothing and they still know people.
- Route referral purchases through your own billing wherever a platform fee would compound the discount.
- NordVPN publishes no cap on how many referrals one person may make, and no expiry on the extensions in these terms. It reserves the right to reject any referral without giving a reason, and states it is not obliged to explain why a referral was refused. The programme is also not available across all NordVPN apps.
