How the Google Fi referral program works
Google Fi pays $60 in bill credit to each side once the referred friend activates a full-service plan with the invitation code, keeps service active for 30 consecutive days and pays their first bill in full. Credits cap at $600, apply to service costs only, and data-only SIMs and group-plan joiners do not qualify.

The $60 applies to monthly service costs alone, never phone purchases or financing, and if the referrer's service is paused the credit simply waits for reactivation. Combined with the paid-first-bill requirement, every dollar of reward is anchored to an account that is actually billing. Dormant accounts earn nothing.
Why it works
A full first month plus a fully paid bill defines a qualified referral as realised revenue, not activation.
Excluding group-plan joiners stops households recycling the bonus for members who were coming anyway.
One redeemed code per referred user prevents stacking multiple referrers onto one new customer.
Service-only credit keeps the subsidy inside the recurring relationship instead of discounting hardware.

- The offer is limited to US residents aged 18 or over, and the referred person must activate within 30 days of checkout on a compatible device. The $600 ceiling is stated as effective from 15 July 2024; earlier references to different caps still circulate elsewhere.
