How the Oura referral program works
Oura gives up to ten friends 10% off a ring. The referrer earns nothing for one referral or two: the reward is a single item of merchandise, released only after three verified qualified referrals, with no partial reward and nothing further beyond the third.

A threshold concentrates the budget on advocates who bring several buyers, and pays nothing for the single casual referral.
Requiring a completed ring purchase, not a signup, means every qualified referral is revenue.
Capping at three keeps the merchandise cost bounded even for the most effective advocate.

- A threshold reward is worth considering when one referral is not worth paying for but three are.
- Say explicitly that partial progress earns nothing, or advocates will assume it accrues.

- Two Oura pages describe this programme differently. The member care page covers the friend's 10% discount, says members may use that discount themselves, and mentions no referrer reward; the terms page covers the merchandise reward and prohibits publicly posting the link. Both are cited because neither is complete alone. The merchandise is unspecified: Oura does not guarantee availability of any size, colour or style, and may change the reward without notice.
